For the second time, POV (Point Of View) Budapest — Hungary’s internationally acclaimed design conference — returns to the capital, once again bringing the world’s leading creative professionals to the stage.
This year’s event will span four days and raise the bar even higher: in September 2025, at the National Dance Theatre, audiences will meet world-class names such as OpenAI, Are.na, Base Design, Studio Dumbar/Dept, Mouthwash Studio, and the legendary graphic designer David Rudnick.
The event was launched last year by two young founders, who — driven by their own sense of what was missing — proved already in the first year that Budapest is a worthy venue for an international creative meeting point. In 2024, Mátyás Czél and Boldizsár Mátyás dreamed big and, with no prior experience in event organizing, started from scratch to realize their long-held ambition of organizing the country’s first design conference. The POV Budapest team envisioned a complex, immersive experience that not only highlights the importance of visual culture but also showcases the beauty of Budapest to international visitors. As part of this, they launched guided design walks and created a curated Budapest map featuring nearly 150 locations.
"From the very beginning, our goal was to connect Budapest to the international design circuit by hosting an event worthy of the city and reflecting its cultural heritage. The fact that we managed to bring the very best of the global design scene to the stage already in the first year — attracting guests from 50 countries — was an important confirmation for us: there is a demand for a design conference here at home," emphasized Boldizsár Mátyás, co-founder of POV Budapest.

Last year’s sold-out, two-day event attracted 700 visitors, 70% of whom came from abroad — putting Budapest firmly on the global design map. Already in its first year, the stage featured studios that have worked for the likes of Nike, Apple, Google, Spotify, Netflix, and Airbnb.
The reception of the first POV was overwhelmingly positive. Not only visitors, but also speakers — many of whom are veterans of the world’s largest conferences — called it one of the best design conferences of their lives.
"Boldizsár, Mátyás, and the team organised such a stellar event. Its design, curation of speakers, and organisation were all thoughtfully delivered. Big respect. We all became fans of Budapest because of you." — Kota Kobayashi, Wise
The event also went viral on X and YouTube, appeared on Designisso, was featured in the autumn issue of the Austrian A Passion Thing magazine, and in the latest issue of Germany’s Grafikmagazin. However, the greatest recognition came from a feature by The Brand Identity, one of the world’s largest online graphic design magazines.
This year’s theme, ‘Making Sense’, explores how the tools of design can help us make sense of the complexity of the world, and how we can find a balance between rationality and emotional understanding. Beyond the central question, the event also continues its community-building mission: from the very beginning, the organizers set out to create not just an event, but a high-quality creative community that provides a platform for meaningful connections, collaborations, and showcasing talent. Part of this is the POV Dinner Club, which brings the city’s creative scene around one table, and the POV Market, which supports the industry as an online design marketplace.
POV Budapest returns on 11–14 September 2025 — and it seems this is only the beginning.
