Submissions are now open for the 09th Hungarian Klipszemle, the country’s very own music video festival, running from September 1 to 12. More than just a competition for performers, Klipszemle celebrates directors, cinematographers, and the entire creative community working at the crossroads of film and music. The screenings of the official selection and the festive award ceremony will take place on November 6 at Akvárium Klub.
This year, once again, anyone can apply with a video released after August 30, 2024 – and yes, it’s also possible to premiere brand-new work at the festival. A fresh category debuts as well: Mobile Clip, created in collaboration with Yettel, dedicated exclusively to music videos shot on smartphones. Entries in this category are free of charge and accepted until the extended deadline of September 21. Every artist whose work makes it into the competition program will receive three tickets to the most important gathering of Hungary’s music and film scene, while a limited number of passes will later be available for the public. For all details, check out the comprehensive Klipszemle FAQ.

Launched in 2015, Klipszemle has already received over 6,000 submissions, with nearly 220 works recognized by a professional jury that changes year after year. Last year’s winners included Pogány Induló, Carson Coma, Valmar, Sisi, Co Lee, Manuel, and Azahriah—while the full archive of award-winning videos from previous editions is available to browse on the Klipszemle website.
